Ep. 69- The Tree Meditation

Rise Up Restored host Becky sits down in-studio for this special episode.  She shares that the team has had many requests from listeners to talk some more about meditation and to share some of our favorite meditations.

Becky reminds listeners to go back and listen to Episode 22- Meditation and Betrayal Trauma with Ryan Raleigh LCMHC, where he gives a great introduction to meditation and shares a beautiful “Heart” meditation.

Becky shares that meditation is very personal and can look different person-to-person.

More and more research shows that in as little as 5-10 mins stress and anxiety levels can decrease and there have also been many positive physical health effects.

5 Basic Tips on How to Meditate:

1-Find your meditation spot- quiet and distraction free (as much as possible)

2-Sit in a comfortable, well-supported position (usually not laying down, unless you are doing a sleep meditation)

3-Soften your mind- slow deep breaths

4-Simple sit and observe

5-End meditation gently
